Bacon Cake??

A family friend was having a birthday. It was in March and he is definitely Irish (hence the clovers and the green and orange). Along with that, they were having a Bacon themed party. So, this cake was made with BACON!! And lots of it. An entire pound to be exact! I don't know that I would love this cake, and next time, I will try a different recipe with some maple or peanut butter frosting, but it served the right purpose!

Because this was for a family friend, and him and I have an ongoing saying of 'Bite Me', I only found it fitting that I took a bite out of the cake and label it that way. Good thing the Birthday Boy was the one who ate that piece. (He was kind enough to send me a picture.)

Choo Choo Trains!

Owen turned 2! And his mom had some awesome train candles to add to the cake! I loved doing this cake. It was simple but turned out so cute!

Another cake for Sweet Saydee!

It's Saydee's birthday again and her mom asked me to create a cake. She was having her party at a dance studio. This was my first attempt creating a 'figurine' out of fondant. I definitely need to continue to work on that, as the girl/dancer was very fragile.

Everyone loves a minion!

Despicable Me has been a popular movie, thanks to the Minions! Here is my most recent birthday cake for Julia. It was fun to do! It's mostly regular icing, but I did use some fondant to keep the lines straight, etc.

It's a dinosaur!

For a Jurassic Park themed birthday party!! I actually free handed this one, and was very pleased with the way that it turned out.

The Monkey Princess!

Got to make a birthday cake for a cute little girl, Saydee. Although the cake was similar to one that I'd done in the past, it was still fun to make it unique in it's own way. The first picture is the entire spread that this little girl got! (I only did the cake). The second picture is the cake almost finished...It's crazy how a little decor can change the looks of it so much.

Happy 30th Birthday To Me!

Besides VW Bugs, I'm also a huge fan of craft beer and breweries. So, obviously it was a 'no-brainer' to have my 30th Birthday at the local brewery, Lucky Bucket. I decided to decorate my own cake, in celebration with the fact that I was having my birthday part at an awesome brewery! I made it to resemble the bottle caps of the Lucky Bucket Lager. So, here it is!
