Baby shower

Here is a baby shower cake that I made.

For Sweet Aliyah...

My friend had a first birthday for her little girl, who only lived for a few hours. She blessed me with the opportunity to make the cake for her. Here it is.

Happy 30th Birthday Jen!

So, I was definitely stressed out about this cake. With a lot of other stuff going on in my life, I didn't put enough time aside to ensure that I would get this cake finished in time. Thank goodness for 'props'. This was also my first attempt at making a Pink Champagne cake. She loved it!

Hawkeye Cake

Congratulations to Holly and Puddin' on their recent marriage! Although Holly is a die hard Nebraska Husker fan, I had to ensure that a Hawkeye cake showed up as the grooms cake at their wedding. :)

Happy Easter!

Ok, so I realize that it has been forever since I have posted any pictures of my cakes on here, but since it is finally November, I should probably post a picture of the cake that I made for Easter. I made it out of 2 round cakes and cut the second one to make the bow and the ears.

Keystone Light Cube

Happy 30th Birthday to my good ole friend Puddin'. He loves beer and he loves to party!
This was my first experience using my airbrush for the entire color of the cake. You can notice a few finger prints at the top of the cake...good learning experience.

Drunk Barbie!

I love my dear friend, Holly! However, she is a little crazy and that's just one of the reasons that we are a friends. So, for her bach party, I made her a drunken barbie cake!

80's Day!

So, I love my full time job. They let us have fun, while working. So, we had an 80's themed dress up day, complete with a Cassette Tape Cake!

Getting old?

I made this cake for a friend at work...who's friend was obviously turning 40. Because there were children who were going to be around, we used the word crap.  The 'crap' is also edible and is made of cake and chocolate frosting. It had a 3D effect going on as well, which you can see below.

A week later, we had a family birthday party for 3 of our relatives, so I decided to take the same theme, but go a little simpler. Below is what I came up with.

Gaudy Birthday Cake

I feel like I need to put a disclaimer on this cake.  Although it was Holly's birthday, and I did make this cake for her, I didn't really decorate it for her. I just wanted to try a few things, to see what they might look like on a cake, and this is what it ended up looking like.  It is VERY gaudy, and I would not normally put all of this on one cake, but it was fun to practice.  So, Happy Birthday Holly!

Baby of Jesus Cake

This cake was fun to do.  Although I am a Christian, and love the Lord above, it was fun to be creative with this cake.  This was for a girl who shares her birthday with Christmas, hence the pink bow on the baby in the manger.  For this cake, I also made a fudge filling, which I got some good reviews on. This is a good thing, as the last fudge filling that I made did not turn out so good, so I am grateful that I have a different recipe that is easy and tastes good!  I would change a few things about this cake, but it did turn out fairly cute.  Practice makes perfect...and I still need a lot of practice, but it is fun.

To My Boss

This cake was for my boss.  She had requested a Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting.  I finally found a fairly successful homemade Chocolate cake recipe, and was told that it was very good.  The Cream Cheese Frosting was a little hard to work with, as why this is probably not my best looking cake, but the frosting was a huge hit, so after a few alterations, we might be able to get it to the point where it still tastes good and is not so soft. It was a challenge to frost this cake, as the it was super moist and the frosting was a little to soft, but even with those issues, I think that it still turned out cute.

A Birthday Cake for Mom!

I made this cake for a friend, so that they could celebrate his mom's birthday.  She passed away this year, but they still wanted to have a small celebration in honor of her life.  I still need to work on the writing, but I thought that the roses turned out a lot better than I thought that they were going too.
